Get a taste of home when you get out and enjoy Austin this weekend. We’ve got a ton of family-friendly events and even a fun gathering or two for adults going on in the area over the next few days, so get ready to check them all out!
1. No place like home
3 to 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Annual Austin Home and Vacation Show, Packer Arena.
The annual convention showcasing the area’s top home and garden products and services is back. You can find whatever you need to improve your home or even improve your life. Look for the Austin Daily Herald’s staff throughout the convention!
2. Lovin’ Austin
7:30 p.m. Friday, March 21. James Sewell Ballet presents “Lover,” Paramount Theatre, $15 in advance, $20 tickets at the door.
The Minnesota ballet company is back to perform to a little musical theater. The second half of “Lover” will also feature local dancers from Bridget’s Dance Conservatory.
3. Highway to the art zone
2 p.m. Saturday, March 22. “Build Art Bike Show,” Austin Artworks Center office, the Old Bank Building in downtown Austin. $5 donations.
Local artists and motorcycle lovers, rejoice! A surprise show featuring amazing motorcycle designs will take place at the Austin ArtWorks Center’s downtown location as a fundraiser for the Austin Area Commission for the Arts.
4. Now you see them …
7-9 p.m. Thursday, March 2. The Spencers present “Theater of Illusions,” Paramount Theatre $15 tickets in advance, $20 at the door.
Ready for a wondrous show? Kevin and Cindy Spencer are ready to dazzle and delight with an illusion show full of theatrics, humor, mystery and a lot of magic. Don’t miss out on this performance, as The Spencers are waiting to leave you amazed.
Other events
That’s not all Austin has to offer over the next few days. The Austin Public Library has an intriguing book discussion on Monday and there are several exciting performances scheduled for next weekend.
