Austin grad Kevin Groh participated in the Los Angeles Marathon March 9.

Groh, who graduated from Austin High School in 2005, finished 49th out of 21,496 runners with a time of 2:48.10 in the LA Marathon.

Groh, who was competing in his first marathon, was in 15th place at the 30K point of the race, had to slow his pace after he developed knee problems.

Groh currently resides in Santa Barbara, Calif. He participated in cross country, track and field and swimming while he was at AHS.
