Austin native Megan Lipari is a member of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire American Marketing Association (AMA) case team that has been named a Top 10 finalist in the annual AMA International Collegiate Case Competition for the third straight year.
Members of the UW-Eau Claire AMA case team are Lipari, a marketing analytics major; Michael Boucher; Phillip Dickinson; Nathaniel Guralski; and Katherine Hammel. Dr. Scott Swanson (management and marketing) is their faculty adviser.
The 2013–14 case challenged teams to develop a comprehensive relaunch campaign for Take 5, a Hershey Company chocolate snack that combines pretzels, caramel, peanuts and peanut butter.
Student teams worked on the case during the fall semester and submitted a written version of their campaign to AMA in December. A blind review process was used to evaluate all submissions. Based on the evaluations of 113 professional judges, the AMA Collegiate Chapter Council Selection Committee picked the Top 10 finalists.
These teams will present their campaigns to a panel of Hershey executives during the 36th Annual International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans. The winning team will be awarded $3,000.
Second, third and fourth place teams will receive $2,000, and the remaining six teams will receive $1,000.
Other Top 10 finalists in addition to UW-Eau Claire are British Columbia Institute of Technology, Cleveland State University, Ferris State University, North Central College, Temple University, Texas State University, University of Arizona, University of Maryland, and University of Pennsylvania.
