Several cars were destroyed Wednesday when fire broke out at a repair shop near Grand Meadow.

According to the Mower County Sheriff’s report, a man was working on a vehicle at Gregerson Towing & Recovery, 26159 740th Ave. He was transferring gasoline in a barrel, which then caught fire. While he was able to move the barrel outside with machinery, the barrel then tipped over and set fire to three vehicles. However, the vehicles were only being used for spare parts, the report added.

Flames also damaged the overhead door to the building. Nobody was hurt.
