The Mower County Fair Board is doing its part to smash out cancer.

The fair board announced it will host a winter demolition derby at 2 p.m. Feb. 16 during Paint the Town Pink. All the proceeds will go to support The Hormel Institute’s cancer research. Tickets will be available at the gate the day of the event.

“We’re expecting plenty of local drivers for this brand new fun friendly fun event adding to the town’s Paint the Town Pink celebration, showcasing our great grandstand facility and supporting a most worthy cause,” said fair board President Neal Anderson said in a press release.

The demo car will be on display around the county over the next six weeks. Tickets will be sold at the fair office, by fair board members and at locations throughout the county.
