MINNEAPOLIS — People across Minnesota are remembering the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Events, big and small, will honor the Baptist minister’s work to advance civil rights with nonviolence and his mission of service.
Political strategist Donna Brazile will keynote the 24th annual MLK holiday breakfast at the Minneapolis Convention Center Monday morning.
The Minnesota History Center in St. Paul will host a discussion of the upcoming legislative session sponsored by the Council on Black Minnesotans. That’s followed by the traditional march from the History Center to the Capitol, where Gov. Mark Dayton will deliver opening remarks. Congressman Keith Ellison is the keynote speaker.
Government offices around the state are closed for the King holiday.
