Vivian Viola Ruzek (Vaith), 99, of Austin, Minn., died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at Sacred Heart Care Center Assisted Living.

She was born June 23, 1914, in Blooming Prairie, Minn., to Edward H. Vaith and Anna M. Vaith (Haubenschild) and spent most of her life in the Austin and Blooming Prairie area.

Vivian was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

She was hard working and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting, creating many beautiful doilies, table clothes, bedspreads, quilts, mittens, booties, and more in her free time.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth V. (Janet) Ruzek, Jr.; two grandchildren, Daniel (Maren) Ruzek and Valerie (Scott) Geary; six great-grandchildren, Brady Geary, Beckett Geary, Basie Geary, Beth Geary, Benny Ruzek, and Maya Ruzek; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at Sacred Heart Care Center with Father Donald Zenk officiating.  Friends may call one hour before the service at Sacred Heart Care Center on Tuesday. Interment will be in St. Columbanus Cemetery in Blooming Prairie in the spring.
