Area churches are prepping for the holiday and celebrating Christ, and they’re doing so this weekend.

On Friday and Saturday, New Life Christian Church in Albert Lea will leave the lights on for a drive-through nativity scene. The display will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. each night.

In Austin, Holy Cross Lutheran Church is holding its holiday bake and craft sale. Baked goods and holiday ornaments will be available from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Queen of Angels Catholic Church’s Council of Catholic Women also has two days of pre-Christmas cheer. A cookie sale and chicken soup and chili supper will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The cookie sale will continue on Sunday with rolls and coffee from 10 to 11 a.m.
