The Austin girls basketball team couldn’t overcome a slow start as it lost 50-40 at Rochester Century (3-3 overall, 2-1 Big Nine) Tuesday.

Shayley Vesel had 16 points for the Packers (3-3 overall, 1-1 Big Nine), who trailed 28-13 at the half.

“We dug ourselves in a big hole and we had to work super hard to just get within eight,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said.
