Mae was born on April 18, 1922, to Erick and Clara (Rieck) Wobschall in Waseca, Minn. She married Harold Hightshoe on June 24, 1941, at the First Lutheran Church in Ellendale, Minn.

Harold and Mae lived in Austin for more than 60 years where they raised their three children. They enjoyed dancing together, especially polkas and Mae would ask to polka with anyone who was willing, even in her later years. Mae was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she was active in the ladies aide making quilts for mission projects and working at the church rummage sale. Mae was a wonderful baker and everyone loved to come to her house for coffee and goodies. Mae will be remembered as a great neighbor, friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
