Ilene Orilla Grose was born on July 3, 1914, in Kenyon, Minn., to Olai F. and Hannah (Anderson) Grose. Ilene was in a musical family and grew up playing piano in her church in Kenyon. She later met Gordian Anderson and they married on June 21, 1935, in Kenyon.
