Donna J. Waller, 70, of Winona, Minn., and formerly of Austin, Minn., died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at her home.

Donna Jean was born March 22, 1943, in Austin to Charles and Edna (Herr) McCarthy. She attended Queen of Angels Elementary and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1961. On Nov. 3, 1962, she married John R. Waller, and he preceded her in death May 1, 2005.

Donna lived life to the fullest and in her own, unique way. Throughout her life, she worked in nursing homes as a nurse’s aide, an activities director, and helped dispense medicine. She most recently worked at Pretty Things in Winona. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, shopping, and spending time with her family. She loved her little dog, Rosie. Donna had a strong faith, and was extremely generous and giving. She will be missed by those she touched.

Donna is survived by a daughter, Dawn (Jeff) Lueck, of Winona; a son, Rex (Lisa) Waller, of Mandeville, La.; six grandchildren: Justine, William and Thomas Lueck and Jason, John and Angelle Waller; a sister, Margaret (Dennis) Uzlik-Dunn, of Austin; a brother, Jerry (Suzanne) McCarthy, of Austin, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, along with her dog, Rosie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edna, husband John, a half sister Joyce Emery, and parents-in-law Marguerite and Rex Waller.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Austin, with Rev. Dale Tupper officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Austin.

Visitation will be 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and one hour prior to mass at the church.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons: Jason Waller, William Lueck, John Waller, Thomas Lueck, along with her nephews, Alan Burton and Shawn McCarthy. Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughters: Justine Lueck and Angelle Waller, along with her nieces Kim Pinkava, Tracy Burton, and Kristen Ott.
