Blooming Prairie’s John Rumpza made two clutch shots to keep his team in it, but it wasn’t enough as the Awesome Blossoms lost 79-69 double overtime in Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (5-2 overall, 2-0 Gopher) Friday.

Rumpza, who had 28 points and 18 rebounds, hit a game-tying shot at the buzzer in regulation to force the first OT and he hit another game-tying shot to force the second OT.

“To be able to execute in that situation against a good team was big,” BP head coach John Bruns said.

Anthony Nelson added 12 points for BP (4-2 overall).
