Former Austin resident Nathan Banda will bring his story and book “Moments That Shaped My Life,” to Riverland Community College and the Austin Public Library on Nov. 14.
Banda, who now lives in Alberta, Canada, migrated from Malawi, Africa, in 2002 and later obtained a degree from Riverland in Austin as a certified nurse. Banda’s book, about his struggle to get an education and make a good living, was released in July.
At. 1 p.m. Nov. 14, Banda will have a table setup at Riverland Community College, where his book will be for sale, and he will be available for signings.
Banda will then be at the Austin Public Library at 6:30 p.m. that day, where former Mayor Bonnie Rietz will introduce him. Banda will hold a brief discussion, read excerpts and sign copies of his book.
