ST. PAUL — Polls are open in Minneapolis, where voters are choosing among 35 candidates for mayor.
The complicated process known as “ranked choice voting” asks residents to rank their first, second and third choices in the race.
It is the first real test of the system established in 2007 to eliminate the need for primary elections.
The winner will succeed Mayor R.T. Rybak, who decided not to seek a third term.
Voters have until 8 p.m. Tuesday to cast ballots.
