Carol Ann died Monday evening, Oct. 21, 2013, at her home in Sunnyvale, Calif., after a long illness.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1945, to William E. Cowan and Arlene (Bly) Cowan in Austin, Minn. She married Rex Allen Buss March 23, 1980, in Santa Clara County, Calif.

She is survived by her husband, Rex Allen Buss, and two children, Melissa Nicole Buss, and Claire Megan Buss, both of Oakland, Calif.; her mother, Arlene Cowan Tabor, Austin; four sisters, Billie Joy (Harold) Moser, of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; Ella Mae (David) Hartwig, of Bloomington, Minn.; Debra Rae (Dennis) Knutson, of Austin; Peggy Lu (Robert) Olson, of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; and two brothers, David William Cowan, of Blooming Prairie; Dale Lee Cowan, of Mapleview, Minn. Also by one aunt, Maxine Laack of Austin; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding her in death was her father, William E. Cowan, and nephew, Michael H. Moser.

The family would prefer memorials to the Cancer Society.
