Austin’s U.S. Bank is under new leadership.
Paul Baessler took over as president of U.S. Bank, 301 Main St. N, after Dick Boerger took a job in Cheyenne, Wyo.
Baessler has been a relationship manager at U.S. Bank since 2011, and he’s spent much of his 30-year career working in commercial and agricultural banking. Much of his career was spent working for community banks in northern Iowa.
With Boerger also nearing retirement, Baessler has been groomed to take over the presidents role since he came to Austin.
“When I was hired, Dick [Boerger] was instrumental in preparing me for this role,” he said.
Baessler said U.S. Bank will continue to have a strong presence in the community and look to add new costumers and continue supporting current customers.
“U.S. Bank has a strong history and culture of supporting community banking, and we’re going to continue down that course, and again, build on our past successes,” Baessler said.
