Lorene Thornburg, 98, of Pine Island, Minn., died Oct. 3, 2013, at Pine Haven Care Center.

Lorene was born in Straubville, N.D. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, member of Pine Island American Legion Auxiliary and VFW of Austin.

She is survived by son, Burt Svedine, of Austin, daughter, Alice Smith, of Baxter, Minn., daughter, Ardys Dowd, of Colorado Springs, Colo., son, Joel Thornburg, of Iowa, 13 grandchildren and many great granchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Thornburg, son, Chancy Tutak, grandson, Greg Dowd, and granddaughter, Nancy Smith.

A funeral service will be held at Pine Haven Care Center, 210 Third St. NW, Pine Island, Minn., at 10 a.m. Nov. 1. Burial will be at Fort Snelling.
