Academic Achievements:

Some of my academic achievements include having the opportunity to take advanced college classes in the studies of humanities, world history, human geography, freshman English, speech, government, and economics. I also got the wonderful experience to be accepted into the “step up” program at Hormel as an intern, working with the corporate engineers. I am also enrolled in honor classes, while being ranked in the top third of my graduating class.

Activities (music, sports, community):

Throughout my high school career, I have become a very active student at the Austin High School. I’m a member in the Symphony Orchestra, a captain on the Girls Varsity Tennis Team, and a Student Council representative. I also take part in groups such as Link Crew to help introduce freshmen to the high school. I had the privilege to be selected for the Step-Up program. Step-Up gave me the opportunity to work with Hormel professionals as an intern. In addition, I was a team member on the Austin High School Junior Varsity Girls Hockey Team and a volunteer student for the youth frontiers.

Potential College Plans:

After high school, I’m planning on continuing my education onto college. I do have a few colleges in mind, such as the University of Minnesota, Winona, and the University of Minnesota located in Rochester. Although my exact college is yet to be determined. I am hoping to major along the lines of medical or engineering.

A person who has had a positive impact in your academic or school life:

I would like to start off by mentioning the entire school staff, for they have impacted my life greatly in order to get where I am today. But, an individual person who has had a positive impact in my academic life would be my grandpa. My grandpa really taught me the importance of hard work and how to strive for achievement. He also taught me how to follow my heart and chase after my goals.

Plans for the future:

As a kid, I’ve always thought about my future. Questions like, “Where do I want to go to college?” “What do I want to do as a profession?” run though my head each and every day in search for a game plan. However, my future plan is to achieve one goal. And that goals is to be adventurous. No matter where I end up going to college, or what major I end up studying in, I want it to be a learning experience. I want to create memories, build an education, and begin a new chapter in my life.
