The Austin boys soccer team picked up its first win of the season in dramatic fashion as it topped Albert Lea (1-3 overall, 0-1 Big Nine) 3-1 in overtime in AL Thursday.

“We moved the ball and we trusted our teammates tonight,” Austin head coach Jens Levisen said. “It was a very solid team effort.”

The Packers (1-2-1 overall, 1-0 Big Nine) took the lead for good when Roel Torres recovered a loose ball on a corner kick and knocked one through and they added an insurance goal when Ochan Ochogi scored on an assist from Torres.

Austin took a 1-0 lead early in the second half when Riley Grinstead banked one off the post.

The Tigers tied the game at 1-1 when AL’s Tim Furland hit a penalty kick with less than five minutes left in regulation.
