Nobody was injured during Monday night’s shed fire in Austin; however, the structure and some of the contents inside were destroyed.

According to Austin Fire Department Commander Tom Schulte, the fire originated somewhere in the middle of the structure and claimed several items, including some cars. Still, the exact cause of the blaze is unknown. The State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident, but investigators don’t have any suspicions.

“We don’t suspect any foul play,” Schulte said.

Firefighters responded to the call at about 6:30 p.m. Monday and stayed on scene until midnight. Heavy smoke and flames filled the roof and rafters, which connect several additions, Shulte said, and believes some of the contents inside may be salvageable. He added the owner had insurance.

Schulte and the fire marshal returned to the scene on Tuesday to investigate. It could be awhile before the fire marshal releases findings, however.
