Overby takes eighth at Mayo cross country meet

ROCHESTER — The Austin boys and girls cross country teams faced off against some tough competition at the Rochester Mayo Invite Thursday.
The Packer girls finished 10th out of 19 teams and Madison Overby finished in eighth place.
“It was a very impressive field that had some of the top runners and teams in the state,” Austin head coach Tony Einertson said. “Our second, third, fourth and fifth runners were all seventh and eighth graders. It was a great meet for the girls and the first time a couple of them have run 4,000 meters.”
The Packer boys finished 12th out of 23 teams and Andrew Baker led the way with a 20th place finish.
