Funeral services for Lillian Arett will be held 11 a.m.. Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, Minn., with Pastor Laura Fladten and Pastor Dennis Timmerman officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. at the church on Monday. Hindt Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is in charge of arrangements.

Lillian E. Arett, 92, of Spring Valley, Minn., passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Lillian was born on March 26, 1921, in York Township, Minn., to Oliver and Anna (Holman) Kingsley. She was a graduate of Wykoff High School. On June 8, 1940, Lillian was united in marriage to Virgil Arett at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Lillian worked at the V Store in Spring Valley for many years, and she later worked at Daytons in Rochester. Dancing to old time music, cooking for her family, and traveling, seeing most of the United States, were some of Lillian’s favorite pass times.

Lillian is survived by her husband of 73 years, Virgil of Spring Valley; children Kyle (Debbie) Arett of Atlanta; Kent (Erika) Arett of Boulder, Colo., and Vicky (Jim) O’Connell of Spring Valley, eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a sister Laura Zidlicky of Postville, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Cynthia, three sisters Gladys, Mae, and Angela, and a brother Emmett.
