Fay E. Uecker, 92, of Blue Earth, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at United Hospital, Blue Earth.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Dr. Mark Wilms officiating. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services at the church. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth is assisting the family with the arrangements. Fay was born Nov. 28, 1920, at McVille, N.D., the daughter of Henry and Bessie (Mosier) Smalley. She graduated from McVille High School in 1938, and was married to Russell O. Uecker on Feb. 7, 1939. To this union seven children were born. Fay had lived in North Dakota before moving to Lyle, Minn. in 1951, where she lived for 25 years raising her children. In 1976, she moved to Oregon and later returned to Minnesota in 1985.
Fay is survived by her daughter, Diana (George) Ritz of Eagle River, Ala.;, her daughter, Lola (Terry) Bishop of Las Vegas; her daughter, Janet, Chamberland of Blue Earth; her son, Roger Uecker of Blue Earth; her son, John (Deborah) Uecker of St. Joseph, Minn.; 17 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1984, a son, Charles Uecker, a daughter, Darlene Olson, a brother, George Smalley, daughter-in-law, Ellen Uecker and son-in-law, Alvin Olson.
