Civic Theatre releases fall schedule

The Rochester Civic Theatre has announced its 2013 Civic Live Autumn and Holiday schedule.

The event will draw both national and international artists to Rochester.

The following is the list of events.

•Sept. 25: Sally Barris, Elle Pollock, Hugh Bob, Brandon Sampson.

•Oct. 23: Haley Bonar, Erik Koskinen, Barry Nelson, Brandon Sampson.

•Nov. 13: Adam Levy, Chastity Brown and Brandon Sampson.

Tickets are $17.50 in advance, $22 at the door.

Real Music Series featuring Dessa

•Oct. 10, 7:30 p.m. The Civic Theatre is introducing the “Real Music Series” with two concerts. The event is kicked off with Dessa who brings a unique sensibility to underground hip-hop. Ticekts $17 in advance, $22 at the door.

An evening with Rudy Maxa and Kerri Miller

•Oct. 13, 7:30 p.m. A night of audience participation with off-the-record conversation with two of American media’s most interesting professionals. Rudy Maxa, one of America’s premier travel journalists, will join Kerri Miller on the Civic Theatre stage to offer scenes of their professions. Ticket prices to be announced.

“The Boy at the Gate, A Memoir,” by

Danny Ellis

•Oct. 17, 7 p.m. Danny Ellis, an Irish singer-songwriter will talk about his book and give readings. The story is an account of a young boy’s struggle to survive orphanage life. Free admission.

Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater 35th Anniversary Celebration

•Oct. 18, 7:30 p.m. Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater company will celebrate it’s 35th anniversary season with a night of acclaimed works from throughout the company’s history as well as new works from SPDT’s repertory. Tickets $17 in advance and $22 at the door.

Jazz Jam

•Oct. 19, Nov. 9, 8 p.m. A night of live jazz and open mic. John Sievers and the D’Sievers host from 8 to 11 p.m.. Musicians of all experience levels are welcome. Admission is free.

“My Cabaret,” by Minnesota Ballet Theatre

•Oct. 25-27, 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday. Rochester’s own Minnesota Ballet Theatre presents a dynamic and entertaining evening of musical theater, jazz, ballet, vocalists and other cabaret performers. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children.
