MANKATO —The Austin girls soccer team couldn’t make up for slow start as they lost 2-1 at Mankato West (4-3 overall, 2-1 Big Nine) Tuesday.

The Scarlets scored two goals in the first 10 minutes of the game and Austin pulled to within 2-1 in the first half when Hannah Voogd scored a goal, but the Packers (2-3 overall, 0-2 Big Nine) couldn’t add any more goals.

“In the second half we had a lot of opportunities, but unfortunately we didn’t score,” Austin head coach Enrique Camarena-Corzo said.
