Lucas Shane Kuether, 41, of Austin, Minn., died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at his home.

Lucas was born Feb. 28, 1972, in Austin to Roger and Judythe (Keyser) Kuether. Lucas grew up in the Austin area, attending Austin Public Schools and graduating from Austin High School. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and was interested in NASCAR, Star Trek and computers. He also enjoyed the outdoors, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his sister Ann Anderson of Austin; brothers Jason Kuether of Austin and David (Katie) Kuether of St. George, Utah; his niece Brooklyn; and special friend Shelly Olsen of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Judythe Kuether; a sister Susan; half-brother Joe; grandparents Kent and Loretta Keyser and Ervin and Mallie Kuether.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Bishop Rick Bremner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Worlein Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
