Clinton M. Becker, 95, of Austin, Minn., formerly of Blooming Prairie, Minn., died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Sacred Heart Care Center, Austin.

Clinton Martin Becker was born April 30, 1918, in Brownsdale, Minn., to George and Emma (Klindt) Becker. On Nov. 4, 1941, he married Laura DeMets at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin.

The couple farmed in the Blooming Prairie and Waltham, Minn., area until Clinton’s retirement in 1995, when they moved into Blooming Prairie. Clinton served as a board member of Waltham Township, as well as the Freeborn Mower Co-op. Laura and Clinton enjoyed spending winters in Mesa, Ariz., for more than 30 years. Laura passed away in July 2007. Clinton moved to Austin in December 2007.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Karen) Becker of Lake City, Minn., and Clinton G. (LuAnn) Becker of Waltham; one daughter, Maria (Paul) DeGennaro of Palm Desert, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Irene DeMets of Owatonna, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Emma Becker; his wife Laura Becker; sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth and Elmer Heydt, Alva and Carlisle Madison; his brother and sister-in-law George and Rosemary Becker.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie with Father Steve Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in the Blooming Prairie Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to St. Columbanus Catholic Church or to the Blooming Prairie Education Foundation.
