Austin Utilities issued a peak energy alert shortly before 2:30 p.m. today.

Utilities asks customers to cut back on energy use until 8 p.m. Reducing air conditioner use, shutting off lights or delaying the next round of dishes are several ways to help keep energy peaks under control.
