Lorine M. Thorn, 82, of Blooming Prairie, Minn., died at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn., Wednesday, July 24, 2013.

Lorine was born Sept. 27, 1930, in Wilson Township, Winona County, Minn., to Ben and Florence (Koenig) Rolfing. She grew up in Wilson and graduated from Winona Senior High School. Following her education, she worked for Winona National Bank as a teller. She married James E. Thorn on Aug. 16, 1952, at Immaculate Conception Church in Wilson, Minn. They made their home in Lakefield, Roseville and the Kasson-Mantorville area, where she worked at Byron State Bank. She was also a homemaker, raising their three children. Lorine and James moved to Blooming Prairie in 1968 where Lorine worked at Farmers and Merchants Bank. A member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church, Lorine enjoyed traveling with her husband, golfing, bowling, playing bridge and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Diane (Allen “Butch”) Anderson of Blooming Prairie, David (Judy) Thorn of Winona and Sheryl (Chris) Mans of Blooming Prairie; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Rita Thill of Winona, Earl (Alice) Rolfing of Long Beach, Calif., Lillian (Gerald) Abts of Fountain City, Wis., Roger (Mary) Rolfing of Winona, Liz (Paul) Matton of Minneapolis, Bernard (Barbara) Rolfing of Winona, Sally Reitz of Minneapolis and Audrey Rolfing of Minneapolis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; two children, Kathy and Patricia; her parents; two siblings, Frank Rolfing and Marietta Johnson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie, with Father Steve Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Winona. Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
