Mary Alice Anderson, 81, of Austin, Minn., died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Austin Mayo Health Systems Hospital.

Mary was born July 17, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., to Frank and Ellamae (Stettler) Boughner. Mary graduated from high school in Rochester, Minn., in 1949, Austin Community College in 1971 and Mankato State University in 1973. She was a licensed public accountant, beginning her career with Stupka and Morem followed by her own practice and concluding with Hill and Larson in Austin. She was past president of the Minnesota Association of Public Accountants and was president of the Austin Business and Professional Women. Mary was an avid golfer and active in the Lady’s Club at Ramsay. She was a parishioner at St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother Robert Boughner; sisters-in-law Phyllis House, Beverly Anderson and Catherine Skinner; brother-in-law Roger Dixon; nieces and nephews Teri Exe and Randy and Larry Dixon. She is survived by her husband, Delmer Anderson of Austin; daughter Jan (Anderson) and husband Richard Madsen of Grimes, Iowa; sister-in-law Janet Boughner; nephews, Jay (Michelle) Boughner of Ramsay, Minn., Jon (Tina) Boughner of St. Cloud, Minn., Steve (Cecelia) House of New Brighton, Minn., Mike (Mary) House of Rochester, Minn., Todd Zrucky of Minneapois and Dan (Denise) Dixon of South Carolina; nieces Tracy (Dave) Fogelson of Byron, Minn., Cindy Meany of Austin, Debra (Tambo) Dixon of the West Indies; brothers and sisters-in-law Francis (Red) House of Austin, Richard and LaVonne Zrucky of Byron, Ann Dixon of Austin; and numerous cousins and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mary Alice Anderson will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin with Father James Steffes celebrating mass at 10 a.m. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to the Mass and on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mayer Funeral Home.
