Burton E. Boe, 77, West Concord

Burton E. Boe, 77, of West Concord, Minn., died Monday, June 10, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Burton was born June 7, 1936, in Udolpho Township, Minn., the son of Norman and Jessie (Bryant) Boe. Attended country school and then school in West Concord where he moved with his family in 1948. Burton then entered the United States Army serving his country from 1959-1961, and was then in the Army reserves. He was part owner of Rounds and Boe excavating, and then worked for Martin Bustad for a short period before working for Ulland Bros. Construction for 27 years. He married Linda Wencl November of 1963, and the couple later divorced. Burton married Marilyn Seavey on June 30, 1984, and the couple made their home in West Concord. Burton was a past mayor of West Concord and served on the fire department and ambulance crew. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring antique cars with his brother Arlo and on his own. He enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, going to auctions and flea markets, and always being available to help others.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Boe of West Concord; five daughters Karla Boe of Austin, Kristine Boe of Austin, Kari (Matt) Swigerd of Willmar, Amy (Ron) Flicek of West Concord, and Joan Boe of West Concord; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth (Bill) Leonelli of Toelle, Utah, Marguerite (Greg) Alberts of Tomahawk, Wis., Zoa (Jim) Heckman of Wells; four brothers Peter (Signora) of West Concord, Arthur (Myrtie Ann) of Faribault, Ervin (Susie) of Dover, Stanley (Tammy) of Faribault; sister-in-law, Lois Boe of West Concord; also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Norman “Arlo” Boe.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. and at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Concord on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Concord with the Rev. Chris Brekke officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord Township.
