Two Austin All Stars baseball teams claimed titles in Opening play over the weekend.

The 12U local 9 team was declared co-winners of the Lakeville Tourney after rain halted play

In the title game and the 12U Corporate Management Group Team won the Brooklyn Park Tourney.

The Austin Eagles Club 14 year old group went 2-1 in play in the Woodbury tourney that was canceled due to weather problems after the first two rounds.

Eagles head coach Danny Ruroden said he had hoped the tournament could continue.

“Our kids were playing good baseball” he said. “It was too bad we got halted because of the weather.”

The Reichel Foods 13 year old team, also ran into weather problems and were 1-2 when play was halted.

“We were not playing well for our first tourney and have

some things to work on” said Austin coach Mark Conner, “But it was good to get in some early tourney play.”

All teams will be idle until May 31.
