The Friends of the Public Library had another successful spring book sale, according to members and volunteers.

This spring’s sale, which was held May 3 and 4, raised $5,656. The money will be split evenly for programs at the Austin Public Library and scholarships at Riverland Community College.

“We sincerely thank the public for their donations of materials and their used book purchases,” said Dorothy Krob. “We also thank those who tirelessly sorted books, arranged them by category, and those who worked at the sale.”

The library also kept the book sale room open two days after the program and collected an additional $450.
