Sharrene Brooks

Sharrene was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Minneapolis to Olaf (Bud) and Isabel Jacobson. Sharrene spent most of her life in Austin. She graduated from Austin High School with the class of 1956 and married Marcus Brooks on June 17 of that same year. Sharrene referred to Marcus as “the love of her life,” and they were together for 56 years. She worked for many years as a licensed practical nurse at the Meadow Manor Healthcare Center in Grand Meadow, Minn.

Sharrene enjoyed reading, antiquing, decorative arts, traveling and spending time with family and friends — especially her grandchildren. She was particularly fond of “junkin,” and was exceptionally good at repurposing her “thrift store finds.”
