The sixth annual Pride of Mower program is coming up during the 129th annual Mower County Fair, which runs Aug. 6 through Aug. 11.

Pride of Mower organizers are looking for candidates for Outstanding Senior Volunteer and for Outstanding Service Organization awards. Contact the Mower County Fair office either in person or by phone at 507-433-1868 to request an application to nominate someone.

The “Pride of Mower” program recognizes and honors those Mower County residents who excel in certain areas of achievement. The following recognition categories are: Livestock Hall of Fame, Outstanding Senior Volunteer, Century Farm Owners, Farm Family of the Year, Outstanding Service Organization, Fairperson of the Year.

The Mower County Fair coordinates the program, and winners are selected through various organizations that are familiar with the candidates’ accomplishments. This program is sponsored by Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Austin.
