Ivan was known in his community for his good sense of humor, friendliness and ready smile. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remember the grandpa that always had time to play cards with them. Ivan was a loving and affectionate husband, father, brother, son-in-law and friend. His family will remember his love for animals and how they loved him as well. He loved things of beauty, whether it was his flowers or seeing the crops growing and the beauty of a field ready for planting. Ivan loved to travel and took many trips with his wife, Ruby, and their friends. This culminated in a trip of a lifetime in 2001 to the Land of Israel. Ivan loved music and enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s concerts. Almost all of Ivan’s loves can be seen in the lives of his children and grandchildren in the things they are involved in and enjoy as well. Underlying all of Ivan’s life was an awareness of the goodness and preservation of God in his life. Ivan was faithful to acknowledge his faith in the lord, noting God had helped him. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Brownsdale, Minn.
