Five area golfers qualify for Class ‘A’ state meet

ROCHESTER — Five area golfers qualified for the Class ‘A’ state meet at the Section 1A golf meet in Eastwood Golf Course in Rochester Tuesday.

Hayfield’s Brady Becker earned his second straight trip to state and Hayfield’s Trevor Anderson and Sam Dahlen, GMLO’s Kaitlin Kling and Blooming Prairie’s Anna Noble earned their first trip to state.

Becker, a sophomore, shot a 76 to tie for the lead in the boys field and Trevor Anderson, a senior, was fifth with a 79.

Kling finished second in the girls meet with an 82. Noble, a junior, was fifth with a 92, and Dahlen, a junior was seventh with a 95

Lyle-Pacelli’s Spencer Holtorf finished 19th with an 87 and Maggie Leif took 22nd with a 108.

Hayfield’s boys finished second with a 335 and BP’s boys took fourth with a 345. Wabasha-Kellogg was first with a 316.

The BP girls finished second with a score of 401 and WK was first with a 388.

The Class ‘A’ state meet will be held in Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker, Minn. June 11-12.
