Gunshots fired, man arrested on attempted murder allegation in AL

ALBERT LEA — Albert Lea police arrested a 41-year-old Texas man Sunday for attempted murder after an alleged fight at a home on Valley Avenue.
The man faces charges of second-degree assault, reckless discharge of a firearm and attempted second-degree murder after police received a report of gunshots fired in the area of High Street and Valley Avenue.
No one was injured.
A second person was also taken into custody but was later released, according to a news release.
The man and his brother were reportedly in town for a family event when they got into an fight, the release states. The fight escalated while they were outside the home, resulting in a shot being fired from a handgun.
Police recovered two handguns at the scene.
The Albert Lea Police Department was assisted by the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Gold Cross ambulance and the Albert Lea Fire Department.
