Edna “Eddy” Thorson, 75, of Robbinsdale, passed away April 13.
Eddy was born in Fosston, Minn., and grew up in Grand Meadow, Minn.
She is survived by her brother, Jim; sister-in-law, Beverly; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Knute and Marie, and brother, Louis.
Eddy earned recognition in amateur radio as a traffic handler and was an A-1 operator. She is listed in the “Who’s Who of American Women.” She was the first licensed Handiham. Handihams, sponsored by Courage Center, assist physically challenged people in obtaining their amateur radio licenses. She was also an accomplished beadworker.
Her friends and family want to extend a special thank you to the many attendants and care givers who have made her able to live independently in Robbinsdale for more than 23 years.
Memorials are preferred to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. At her request, no services are planned.
