In just a few more days, Countryside Inn in west Austin will have a whole new feel. The business will reopen as an EconoLodge.

Hemali Patel, who recently took over as manager, mentioned many renovations.

“We have new furniture, new beds, lots of painting, new lobby, new hallways, everything,” Patel said.

The building was recently re-sided, too. However, not all of the EconoLodge signage has been posted yet, and it could be the end of this week or early next week before the building opens as EconoLodge. Still, Patel said the business will remain open to customers as Countryside Inn before the official change.

EconoLodge approached the former Countryside management back in 2008, Patel said. However, managers weren’t ready then to make the switch. The current economy, Patel added, fostered the decision.

“We’re just looking forward to open and run as EconoLodge,” Patel said.

EconoLodge will have 53 rentable rooms, new rates, a free continental breakfast with waffles, a business meeting room and weekly rental rates.

EconoLodge is located at 3303 Oakland Ave. W. on the west side of Interstate 90.
