The Austin Bruins suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime loss to Minot in game two of the NAHL Central Division semifinals in Riverside Arena Saturday night.
The Minotauros tied the five-game series at 1-1 when former Bruin Jadin Martin scored with 11:08 left in overtime.
Austin goalie Jason Pawloski had stopped 38 straight shots before Martin’s game-winner.
The Bruins didn’t get on the board in regulation until AJ Ried tied things up and forced overtime with a game-tying goal with 14:30 left in the game.
Minot took a 1-0 lead when Wesley Iverson scored on the Minotauros’ first shot on goal of the game early in the first period.
Top-seeded Austin must now win at least one game in Minot next week to keep the series alive. Games three and four will be held in Minot Friday and Saturday at 7:35 p.m. If the series comes to a game five, it would be held in Riverside Arena Monday, April 22 at 7:05 p.m.
In the other NAHL Central semifinal, Bismarck took a 2-0 series lead over Brookings when it won 4-3 Saturday.
