Two events featuring nationally and internationally recognized artists are happening this week at the Historic Paramount Theatre.

Back by popular demand, the a capella group Tonic Sol-fa will perform at 7:30 p.m. this Thursday.

Tonic Sol-fa has established itself not only as the most in-demand vocal group in the Midwest, but also one of the most successful independent acts in America.

In addition to selling over 2 million copies of their independently released CDs, the group has toured extensively throughout the US and abroad. They have reached national prominence with appearances on NBC’s “Today Show” and in Newsweek magazine.

Along the way, they have shared the stage with a number of recognizable performers including Jay Leno, Jeff Foxworthy and Lonestar, and were recently part of Garrison Keillor’s 30th anniversary celebration of “A Prairie Home Companion.”

Tickets for this fantastic event are $15 in advance, $2 more at the door.

Then, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, we will be joined by cellist Hong Wang for a special musical performance that will feature local piano students.

Playing professionally since age 9, Ian has both a bachelor’s and master’s from The Juilliard School. He has performed throughout the United States and Europe, and has received many awards and recognition.

For his concert this Sunday in Austin, Ian has extended the unique opportunity for piano students of all levels to perform their favorite piece on the Paramount Stage during intermission.

Please call the theatre at 434-0934 to make arrangements. Tickets for this wonderful event are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and all tickets are $2 more at the door. They can be purchased online at paramounttheatre.org or by calling 434-0934.
