Minor injuries sustained in Austin crash Sunday

Both drivers in a Sunday accident in Austin pointed fingers at each other, and each said she was the first one through the intersection.
The accident happened Sunday at about 1:17 p.m. at the intersection of Seventh Street and 12th Avenue Northwest. The 38-year-old male passenger of a Ford Escape with Colorado plates complained of pain in two right ribs and went to the hospital in Austin via ambulance, according to the Austin Police report.
The 23-year-old woman driving the Ford Escape said she was struck by the 24-year-old woman driving a Toyota Corolla. However, the 24-year-old said she was in the intersection first. She also complained of right knee pain and went to the hospital in Austin with a friend.
The Escape was on the boulevard of the northwest corner of the intersection, according to the police report, while the Toyota Corolla sat in the road facing west. The driver of the Escape, who is from Austin, was issued a citation for driving without a license.
