BLUE EARTH, Minn. — A jealous husband convicted of fatally attacking a man with a hammer in southern Minnesota has been sentenced to 33 years in prison.

Brian Freeman also injured his estranged wife and her two daughters in the assault at a Blue Earth home in February 2012. The 30-year-old Ceylon man had earlier pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional murder and three counts of first-degree assault.

A criminal complaint says Freeman was wearing a mask when he entered the home and killed 37-year-old Christopher Fulmer. He also hit his wife, Candice Freeman, and her two teenage daughters, before calling 911.
