Austin grad Babaye Oja was named to the Region XI women’s basketball first team recently.

Oja, who is averaging 9.9 points and 5.4 rebounds, is a freshman at Division II Iowa Central Community College.

Iowa Central went 24-8 on the year and defeated seventh-ranked Kirkwood in the tournament finals. They will play Monroe (22-7) March 17 at 3 p.m. in the first round of the national tourney.
