A woman who reportedly stole $7 worth of soda pleaded guilty to drug possession last week in Mower County Court.
Heather Fennell, 29, of Lyle, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree drug possession, a felony. After she was arrested for misdemeanor theft on Feb. 14, Fennell reportedly dropped a pipe with a half gram of methamphetamine in it. The misdemeanor theft charge and petty misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charge were dismissed.
According to the court complaint, the homeowner in Austin tried to confront Fennell as she left the victim’s entryway with 12-packs of Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper.
According to the victim, Fennell said, “Call the cops,” as she walked away. So he called the cops, who later found Fennell’s car and arrested her.
Fennell will be sentenced on June 21.
