Three men were arrested in Austin Wednesday night after a serious fight left four teenagers injured, one of which was airlifted to the hospital in Rochester.
Austin police received a call about a large fight in the 1200 block of Oakland Place Southeast after 7 p.m. Police later arrested three men, 19, 22 and 26, in a black Lincoln car in the 800 block of 14th Street Northeast. Police say the suspects used pipes and a baseball bat to assault the four teens, ages 15 to 17, and sent one to the hospital with head trauma.
The three suspects may be charged with first- and second-degree assault, according to the police report. The investigation is ongoing, and the condition of the other victims is not listed in the report.
Police Chief Brian Krueger could not say if there will be more arrests but believes the three main suspects are in custody. A report has been forwarded to the Mower County Attorney’s Office for appropriate charges.
