Hayfield girls move into first with a win

HAYFIELD — The Hayfield girls basketball team bounced back from its lowest scoring output of the season as it beat Kasson-Mantorville (15-7 overall, 8-3 HVL Gold) 70-58 in Hayfield Tuesday.
The win puts Hayfield (15-7 overall, 8-2 HVL Gold) in first place by a game in the HVL Gold Division.
“What a difference a night makes,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said. “This was a big win for us. It puts us in control and I’m very proud of the girls.”
Bhrett Zahnle led Hayfield with 19 points.
