Evelyn Marie Beinhorn, 84, Blooming Prairie

Evelyn “Ev” Marie Beinhorn, 84, of Blooming Prairie, Minn., passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 9, 2013, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie.
Ev was born on April 11, 1928, to Frank and Mayme (Ambroz) Kriha in Le Sueur County, Minn. She grew up in Le Sueur County and attended Montgomery area country schools. Ev met Virgil Beinhorn when he was on leave from the Navy. She was working candling eggs at that time. On Sept. 18, 1950, the couple married at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague, Minn. To this union four children were born. The couple worked together in a bakery in New Prague and purchased the Blooming Prairie Bakery in 1963. They owned and operated the Bakery until the mid-1980s.
Virgil passed away on May 26, 1990. Ev loved to embroider and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great baker, famous for her Mocha Cakes and cookies. She enjoyed fishing and volunteering at the Blooming Prairie Senior Center. Ev was also a member at St. Columbanus Catholic Church where she ran the bake sale at the annual Spring Fair for many years.
Survivors include her four children, Virginia (Bill) Burgart of Rochester, Minn., Cheryl Kruckeberg of Blooming Prairie, Roger (Cindy) Beinhorn of Rochester and Lynn (Duane) Hanson of Blooming Prairie; eight grandchildren, Kasey (Marsha) Kruckeberg, Kerry (Chris) Finne, Nick (Jackie) Burgart, Dennis (Stephanie Pate) Burgart, Brian (Jessica) Hanson, Leah (Dan) Schiller, Tim Beinhorn and Becky (Cory Rislov) Beinhorn; Eight great-grandchildren, Fisher and Bennett Kruckeberg, Josie and Allie Finne, Grayson and Syndel Schiller and Reece and Hazel Hanson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Helen; one brother, Leonard; and one stepbrother, James.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and one hour before at the church. Rosary service will be at 4 p.m. Interment will be at Red Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorials preferred to donor’s choice. Arrangements are with Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home.
